What is eyelash lamination and what do we need to know?

Eyelash lamination can also be found as “eyelash curling”, “eyelash botox”, “eyelash argan therapy”, “eyelash filer”, etc…

However, the lamination itself is a chemical process that must be performed in strict sequence, regardless of the choice of nourishing product. No matter if you are going to use a filter, botox and other nourishing substances, before them is the chemical process itself. It is performed in two sequential steps, by means of an activator and a neutralizer. How long each step will stay on the natural lashes depends on the thickness of the hair. The artist must be competent enough to judge the condition of the client’s natural lashes, otherwise it is very possible to cause a chemical burn like the one in the picture.

Another important point is the application of natural eyelashes on the “roller” / “pad”. If they are not fixed precisely and pulled in the right way, the lamination will “lock” the hair in the wrong position and the natural lash will remain in that state until it completes its natural cycle or it is time for the next lamination. Eyelash lamination can be repeated after 4 weeks at best, in rare cases up to 2 weeks depending on the condition of the hair and if the procedure does not tolerate delay as in this case.

The client in the photo had her eyelashes laminated at another salon, after a failed attempt the procedure was repeated, which worsened the condition of her eyelashes. In the before photo, the client is a full month after the procedure and it can be seen that the eyelashes have not yet completed their life cycle and have not renewed.

We urge all artists to familiarize themselves with the products that work and reinforce knowledge of the procedure process. Eyelash lamination is a serious and responsible procedure!

We urge clients who take advantage of eyelash lamination services to research the salons and artists they trust.
